Mentoring With Morgan

Our 15 Year Journey to Better Preaching

Their journey began in Seminary.  Morgan was the Director of Field Education.  Karen was a student.  In 2002, Morgan and Karen began to have weekly meetings to discuss the sermon Karen would deliver at her Field Education church.  After leaving Seminary, Karen and Morgan corresponded by email.  Morgan read the sermon draft, sent comments, and Karen revised her sermons.  And they both learned a great deal.

This book explores the world of mentoring, and the development of better preaching.  Along the way, they discussed theology, Biblical interpretation, delivery, the challenges of pastoral ministry, and world events.  In the journey, they learned that each sermon provides a new beginning to better preaching, and deeper understanding of God.

T. S. Eliot,  Four Quartets
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
